A comparison of the east and west slopes of Chianti by winemaker Paolo de Marchi of Isole e Olena in Tuscany. Paolo describes how the exposure of the sun on the two slopes and how that affects the ripeness of the grapes and the resulting wines. Neither is better as quality depends on the vintage.
